After Surgery
I am a resident of Tooele, Utah. I am 95 years old, live alone, take care of myself and my home.
I am a volunteer at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah and have been for 22 years. My day is Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, I drive myself back and forth.
My left knee started bothering me, aching and affecting my walking. I made an appointment with Dr. John Douglas and he had x-rays done showing my knee was bone on bone.
Dr. Douglas scheduled surgery for 25 July, 2010 at Mountain West Medical Center in Tooele, Utah.
Surgery was very successful. I had no problems at all. No pain pills, no walkers or canes.
Dr. Douglas and his staff are so very very special, so attentive, pleasant and very helpful. His nurses always asking if I needed pain pills, I said no. Naturally I hurt after surgery, but not painful enough for pain pills. The pain was nothing I couldn't handle.
My many many thanks to Dr. Douglas, Craig Packham. Dr. Douglas and his staff are so VERY VERY special to me for such a successful surgery. I couldn't ask for a more special doctor, his staff, physical therapists,home care and all.
I am perfectly satisfied with the results. I love my new knee.

I have been a patient of Tooele Orthopaedics for 4 years now and I would not go anywhere else for my orthopedic issues. I live in Herriman and travel to Tooele because of how good they are. Dr Douglas did my carpal tunnel surgery 2 years ago and I have not had a single problem and he did not even leave a scar! I have also seen him for my knee. I was in excruciating pain, he did x-rays on me and then gave me a shot and I have been great for over a year with my knee. Our son has also seen him for a seperated shoulder, broken wrist and broken thumb (From football). Dr. Douglas and his physician assistants are a great group and he has a great office staff. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone who has shoulder, knee, hip, ankle or any orthopedic issues at all. It is worth the drive even if you live in SLC.
I injured my shoulder while playing basketball. I came to Dr. Douglas to be evaluated. After having an MRI it was necessary for me to have surgery. I had my surgery and within 3 months I was back to the gym bench pressing 350 pounds. I have not had any issues since and my shoulder feel great! Scott, Craig and all of his office staff were great. Thank you again, you all are really a credit to our community.
If you are looking for someone to care for you medically and treat you like a person not just a patient, then you have come to the right place. Being born with birth defects I have seen doctors all of my life. So I feel I know a good team/office from a bad one. Dr. Douglas, Scott, the front desk staff, plus all the behind the scene workers, are truly gifted and caring people.
As for the EXCELLENT work they did on my left shoulder, just goes to prove these people are the cream of the crop. Thank you to one and all.
Dr. John Douglas is the best . The very Best! He really makes you feel he is interested in you as a person. His physcian assistants, Scott and Craig, are equally as personal and knowledgeable and are great too. They take time to answer all your questions. I had a total knee and I'm doing exceptionally well and have been very pleased with my results. I'm going Back to Dr.Douglas so he can help me with my shoulder since I have heard nothing but great things about him when it comes to shoulder as well. I would not go to anyone else.
Dr. Douglas and all his staff are WONDERFUL! I can't say enough nice things about everyone in the office. I've been a patient since July 2010 when my knee became very painful. It was determined I would need total knee replacement surgery which was done in Febuary 2011. In June 2011 while still in physical therapy for the knee, I was in a motor vehicle accident which badly tore open the knee that had been replaced. At my request, Dr. Douglas came to the ER (instead of the ortho on call) on a Saturday evening to take care of me. I'm extremely grateful for his help, reassurance, and a genuine interest in my well being and recovery. Somehow "thank you" just isn't enough. You know you have a good Doctor-Patient relationship when you know everyone in the office by first name! Thanks everyone!
I live in Roosevelt, Utah. I had my knee replaced February 2011 by Dr. Douglas. I enjoy doing things outdoors and the pain I was having before my replacement made it very difficult to enjoy anything. Thank you Dr. Douglas, and your staff, for doing such a great job in replacing my knee. Though the drive from Roosevelt to Tooele was long the end results were well worth it. I have no pain now and can do any thing I dare to try and do it without any pain. I also thank Les and Rob for a great rehab (damn near killed me at times) but it was well worth it. How great it is to walk without any pain. Again, thanks to all who had a part in any way. You all are all greatly appreciated.
Dr. Douglas, your specical and I wanted you to know I think so. Thank you ever so much for my thumb surgery which is doing great! Im not sure if your aware of it or not but your office has seen fourteen members of my family and all have been extremely pleased with their treatment and results, so you are doing great. Keep up the good work and we are glad you are a part of our community.
A little over a year ago I injured my shoulder doing push ups. Dr. Douglas and his staff were fantastic. They were so friendly during my treatment that I felt like I was part of a family. Dr. Douglas performed surgery on my shoulder and I haven't had any problems or pain since. I was back at work within 6 weeks. My shoulder hasn't felt this great in years.
I had my shoulder operated on in June of this year. Before the surgery Dr. Douglas and Craig did everything they could to help me live and work with a shoulder that was falling apart. Every single time that I entered the office I was treated with respect and kindness from beginning to end. I have recommended Dr. Douglas and his amazing team to everyone I know. Thanks so much.
After having pain in my left shoulder for a few months I went to see Dr. Douglas and his staff and was taken care of immediately. Their office was clean, the staff friendly and nearly every time, I was seen before my appointment time. They did not waste my time and progressed me through the treatment process by using their professional diagnosis and also listening to my input. When the time came for surgery they had several plans of action to pursue not just going in blind. Put simply I am glad I chose Dr. Douglas and his staff for my care. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs orthopedic care.
